Key Responsibilities
- Maintain IB curriculum alignment and programme integrity.
- Lead curriculum evaluation, assessment moderation, and accreditation processes.
- Ensure academic honesty and research-based teaching strategies.
- Facilitate teacher training in IB philosophy, assessment, and pedagogy.
- Work with HoD to create, proofread and distribute examination papers, reports, portfolios manuals, newsletters etc.
- Manage all correspondences with the International Baccaluareate
- Conduce routine classroom observations and work with HoD in appraising all teachers
- Prepare class timetables and release in timely manner to teachers and parents
- Work with HoD to plan, prepare annual and internal calendars and communicate to the students
- Make recommendations to HoD and HoS with regard to programmes, curricula and teaching resources to be incorporated in teaching
- Monitor students' progress through assessments and make arrangements for inclusive education or retention if needed in line with IB requirements/recommendations
- Coordinate Screening and readiness and MAP assessments for all students, prepare reports for dissemination to the parents
- Placement of new students
- Work with HoD to procure and manage the resources for the department
- Work with HoD in preparation and quality control of all department events and assemblies/unit in action
- Monitor, evaluate and prepare all stakeholders for the IB evaluation and any other accreditation if required
- Ensure that all the processes, documentation and resources are maintained and in place for IB self-evaluation and as required
- Ensure that all processes, evaluations and exam submissions are followed with academic integrity
- Apprise the management and Head of the Department of any new changes to the IB curriculum, standards and practices
- Ensure official communication to parents about academic progress of their children (via teachers) is done in a timely and proactive manner. Communication to parents about their child's academic progress (including mocks wherever applicable) should be planned and implemented between CC and teachers before final reports are issued
- Supervise the Learning Support Services team to ensure that all IEP expectations and subject support classes are upheld by school stakeholders (primary and secondary)
- Manage the Exhibitions as per the requirement of the programme
- Analyse results of candidate students and provide timely interventions to parents
- Predicted and mocks grades should be reported to HoD and HoS by mid of second term
- Analyse the discrepancy between predicted and actual results. Anything +2 or -2 should be analysed in detail. Action and intervention should be planned for respective teachers in conjunction with HoD and HoS
- As CC, strive for at least 90% of pass rate for candidates.
- Monitor and implement the ATL framework in Secondary
- In charge of all external submissions of ePortfolios and Personal Project. This includes providing student support, teacher support, ensuring quality of highest standard and timely submission
- Take part in the recruitment process for staff in the respective department
Educational Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Education or equivalent Teaching Qualification
- Masters degree is an added advantage
Related Job Experience
- 5 years' experience teaching in an IB curriculum school
- Training in Special Educational Needs, Learner support, ITESOL and inclusion is an added advantage

Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Teacher
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging TOK lessons in alignment with the current IB TOK subject guide.
- Guide, support, and supervise students through the official TOK assessment components: the TOK Exhibition and the TOK Essay.
- Collaborate with DP subject teachers to ensure TOK concepts and cross-curricular links are integrated throughout the Diploma Programme.
- Provide constructive, timely feedback on student progress, draft essays, and presentations.
- Ensure all internal and external TOK assessments are authenticated, marked, and submitted strictly adhering to IB deadlines and academic honesty guidelines.
- Facilitate classroom discussions that respect diverse perspectives, encourage critical thinking, and promote international-mindedness.
- Participate in collaborative planning and IB professional development workshops related to TOK.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Education or a related subject area
- Masters degree is an added advantage
- TOK-specific IB Category 1 or 2 training preferred
Related Job Experience
- Previous experience teaching TOK or related DP subjects (such as Philosophy or History) in an IB curriculum school preferred
